Southern Tier Sports ReportELMIRA — The Elmira Express softball team fell to Vestal on Thursday night, 9-6.
Vestal led 3-0 after two innings, but Elmira scored four in the fourth to take the lead.
Vestal got two in the sixth and then four in the seventh in the win.
Rylee Gonzalez and Anna Osborne each had two hits for Elmira. Osborne scored a run and Gonzalez had an RBI and two runs scored.
Maddi Smith had a double, an RBI and a run scored and Hayden Pierce had a hit, an RBI and a run scored, while Grace Romeo scored a run.
Smith struck out seven on the mound.
