STAC BASEBALL: ELMIRA GETS WALK-OFF HOMER FROM CAVALIER TO DOWN VESTAL (12 PHOTOS) (2026-05-12)

ELMIRA — The Elmira Express baseball team won their ninth straight game, rallying to top Vestal 13-11 on Tuesday night. 

Elmira got off to a fast start. They led 3-0 after one inning. Vestal got within 3-2 after two, but Elmira scored four in the third to go up 7-2.

Vestal got four in the fourth and five in the fifth to take an 11-7 lead, before Elmira got a run back in the fifth. 

Jackson Cavalier hit a two-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh to win things. 

Brock Carr struck out two in 3 2/3 innings and Ryan Mathews got one out, before Carter Sherman struck out two in three innings of work. 

Cavalier had the home run, and he had three RBI and three runs scored on the day. 

Quinn Hanrahan had two hits, with a double, an RBI and two runs scored. Aiden Ranck had two hits, with a double, an RBI and two runs scored and Frankie D’Angelo had a double and three RBI. Logan Palmer had a double and an RBI and Aedan Palmer had a double, an RBI and two runs scored. 

Sherman had a hit and a run scored and Dom Ellis scored a run.
