Southern Tier Sports ReportJOHNSON CITY — The Elmira flag football team was edged by Johnson City 19-13 in the regular season finale on Tuesday.
Freshman quarterback Marley Devlin led the offense with 209 yards passing and two scores. She connected with Emma Lambert and Gracelyn Wheeler for the team’s scores.
Defensively, Kayvonna King, Hayden Baker and Ella Devlin all recorded interceptions.
“This is not the result we were hoping for to close out the regular season,” Elmira coach A’Don Allen said. “Credit to Johnson City, they played with a high level of intensity throughout the game. We were slow to match that energy. We now turn our focus to sectional play, where we will use this experience as an opportunity to improve and prepare for the week ahead.”
