CORNING — The Corning Hawks softball team celebrated senior day with a 6-0 victory over Maine-Endwell on Monday night to stay unbeaten.
Corning, ranked first in the state in Class AAA, moved to 13-0 with the win over the Spartans, ranked third in the state in Class A.
Matti Johnston had a big game on senior night. The Hawks lone senior, who will play at Division I Albany next year, threw a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts in the game.
AT the plate she had a pair of hits, with two RBI and a run scored.
Emelia Smith hit a home run and had three RBI and a run scored.
Hannah Kauffman and Keana Mann each had a double and a run scored.
Lauren DeRosa had a hit, an RBI and a run scored and Sophie Schoonover scored a run in the game.
