SECTION 4 FLAG FOOTBALL: ELMIRA WINS ON SENIOR DAY FOR FIRST VICTORY OF SEASON (2026-05-02)

Southern Tier Sports Report
ELMIRA — The Elmira Express picked up their first win of the season with a 38-25 victory over Ithaca on senior day.

Freshman quarterback Marley Devlin led the Express with four touchdown passes, three to sophomore Kayvonna King and one to freshman Gracelyn Wheeler. Junior Ella Devlin and freshman Emma Lambert added rushing touchdowns.

Elmira came out strong, building a 26-0 lead before holding off a determined Ithaca comeback attempt.

Defensively, King and Ella Devlin each recorded interceptions, while Sari Graham and Hayden Baker applied pressure throughout the game.

“This was a fantastic team win on Senior Day,” coach A’Don Allen said. “We really wanted to get a win for our seniors. Four of them—Mady Wasicki, Laci Pronti, Jayelle Tomisman, and Bella Hill—have been here since the beginning of the program. Faith Bound and Jaydalyn Perez round out the group, and all six have given their heart and soul to this team. These girls have been working incredibly hard since day one. We came into this season with a lot of youth and inexperience, and with this being my first year leading the program, I’m really proud of how they’ve stayed the course.

Coach Lou Condon called a great game offensively, and the girls responded by playing with great intensity. It was also a great day for the program overall—Coach Eli Thomas and our JV team picked up a win to close out their season. To have both teams come away with wins today really speaks to the commitment of our coaching staff and the effort these kids have put in all year. We’ve had 44 girls in the program, and 37 of them had never played flag football before. So for us, this is about building it the right way—and today was a big step in that direction.”

Marley Devlin was 14-for-26 passing for 178 yards, four scores and she ran for 30 yards and three two-point conversions.
