Southern Tier Sports ReportWATKINS GLEN — The Edison baseball team captured the IAC Large School South Division title with a 6-2 win over Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour on Friday.
Tanner Buchanan continued his dominant stretch on the mound, striking out seven and allowing five hits in six innings. Paxton Hoover closed out the game with the save.
Jace Schiller and Alijuwan Hall each had a hit and an RBI and Caden Collier and Niko Cheplick both had RBI.
“This group has worked hard since day one,” Edison coach Chris Bennett said. “Winning the division and competing for a championship were goals we talked about early, and to see these players achieve that is special. They earned it with defense, pitching and timely hitting tonight.”
