Southern Tier Sports ReportBINGHAMTON — Freshman Reese O’Herron threw a no-hitter to lead the Horseheads softball team to a 22-0 win over Binghamton on Tuesday night.
O’Herron struck out five and walked one in the five-inning shutout.
Aubrey Howe had a career day at the plate going 2-for-4 with two home runs, six RBI and two runs scored.
Caitlin Yearick had two hits, a home run, two RBI and four runs scored. Yearick also had a double in the game.
It’s Yearick’s 17th career home run. On Sunday in a 16-11 win over St. Mary’s she hit her 16th career home-run, breaking. 30-year-old mark set by Christina Kowalski in 1996. The home run Tuesday is the third this year for Yearick, who will play at St. John’s next year.
Presley McInnis was 3-for-3 with a double, five RBI and three runs scored and Aubrey Maticic was 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored.
Dylan Young had two hits, with a double, three RBI and two runs scored and Briley Beach had two hits, with a double, and two runs scored.
Reagan Burge had a hit and scored two runs and Grace Cronin had a hit, an RBI and two runs scored.
