SECTION 4 BOYS' LACROSSE: HORSEHEADS FALLS BEHIND EARLY IN LOSS AT ITHACA (2026-04-27)

ITHACA — The Horseheads boys’ lacrosse team fell behind early in a 9-5 loss to Ithaca on Monday night. 

Ithaca led 4-0 after one quarter and 7-2 at the half on their way to the win.

Ithaca is 9-2 on the year and Horseheads is 5-6. 

Owen Johanson and Seamus Lynch each had two goals for Horseheads and Brogan Sullivan had two assists.

Zack Bennett had a goal and an assist for the Blue Raiders and Kennan McCarthy finished with an assist.

Leland Walker had three goals and two assists for Ithaca and Lee Milton had three goals.

Quentin Getzin had two goals and Isaac Lee-Byrnes had a goal, while Jacob Steele had an assist.

Ben Potter had 12 saves for Horseheads and Thomas Howley had 11 for Ithaca.

Boe Briggs was 8-for-18 on face-offs for the Blue Raiders.

“Congrats to Ithaca on the win,” Horseheads coach Jason Neubauer said. “We did not show up to play in the first half. I give the boys credit for turning it around in the second half, but we were too sloppy. We will get back to work tomorrow.”

Horseheads is at Vestal on Friday.
