STAC SOFTBALL: CORNING TOPS M-E TO STAY UNBEATEN (2026-04-27)

ENDWELL — The Corning softball team stayed unbeaten with a 13-3 win at Maine-Endwell on Monday night. 

The Hawks, ranked second in AAA in the state, handed the Spartans, ranked fifth in A, just their second loss of the year. 

Sophie Schoonover was 3-for-4 with a home run. Two RBI and two runs scored and Lauren DeRosa had a double and a triple, four RBI and two runs scored.

Hannah Kauffman had two hits, with a triple, two RBI and two runs scored and Emelia Smith had two hits, with a double, a run scored and an RBI. 

Matti Johnston had a double and three runs scored for the Hawks and Keira Brass had two hits, an RBI and two runs scored.

Mia Madden and Keana Mann each had hits in the game. Madden had an RBI and Mann scored a run. 

Johnston struck out 13 on the mound, allowing four hits and three runs, just one earned.
