SECTION 4 TRACK AND FIELD: CORNING BOYS AND GIRLS WIN TITLES AT WAITE-MOLNAR (24 PHOTOS) (2026-04-25)

ELMIRA — The Corning boys and girls track and field teams each brought home titles at the Waite-Molnar Invitational on Friday night.

Corning’s girls won at 188.50 followed by Elmira at 76. Horseheads was fifth at 59, followed by Edison at 36.5. Notre Dame was ninth at 13 points.

For the boys the Hawks won at 110, followed by Vestal at 103. Horseheads was fourth at a 72, followed by Elmira at 59. Edison was eighth at 21 points followed by Notre Dame at 10. 

In the girls’ 100 Corning’s Cella McLaughlin won in 12.07 followed by Claire Devlin (12.66) and Brooklyn Gordon (12.91). 

Hannah Lasko of Edison won the 200 in 26.37 with Chinonyerem Okoro of Corning third in 27.69 followed by Arrianna Jones of Elmira in 27.87. Horseheads’ Erica Bancroft was sixth in 28.13 followed by teammates Maggie Tremaine (29.14) and Morgan Adams (29.35) and Notre Dame’s Rose Daly (31.27).

Lasko won the 400 in 1:00.90 with Karina Lapierre of Horseheads third in 1:04.67 followed by Corning’s Amanda McEwen (1:05.37). Elmira’s Jazae Watkins-White was sixth in 1:07.11 followed by teammate Alexis Storch (1:07.81) and Hadley Murray of Corning (1:08.99) with Corning’s Kaylee Scolaro 10th in 1:09.69.

Elmira’s Molly Doran was fifth in the 800 in 2:35.09 followed by Corning’s Olivia Martinec (2:36.34). The Hawks’ Uma Palma Tree Thutaram was eighth at 2:47.64 with Horseheads’ Avery Howarth 10th in 2:50.33. 

Corning’s Kateland Dininny won the 1500 in 5:02.92 followed by teammate Martinec in 5:04.24. Elmira’s Addie Fenton was fourth in 5:10.32 followed by Corning’s Abigail Wagner in 5:14.33. Lauren Coseo of Notre Dame was 10th in 5:52.71.

Madelyn Wise of Elmira was third in the 3000 in 11:25.24 followed by Corning’s Bella Martinec (11:28.91), Gabriella Hurd (11:42.90) and Kaitlyn Lee (11:49.64).

Cella McLaughlin won the 100 hurdles in 13.85 followed by teammate Clare McLaughlin in 16.98. Teammate Teagan Walsh was third in 18.84 followed by Azavyanna Morgan of Elmira in 18.85 and teammate Sophia Campanella in 20.19. 

Alisyn Conway of Corning won the 400 hurdles in 1:10.61 followed by Horseheads’ Sophie Shutter in1 :14.43. Elmira’s Selena Rollins was fourth in 1:22.62 followed by Lauren Younkin of Corning in 1:23.51, Notre Dame’s Charleigh Ripley (1:23.68), Corning’s Teagan Walsh (1:25.43) and Aubriella Ector of Edison (1:28.97).

Horseheads’ Stella Harrison won the 2000 steeplechase in 9:27.89 followed by Edison’s Emma Duggan (9:39.94), Macailyn York of Corning (10:03.60) and Olivia Vinsek of Edison (10:48.71).

Horseheads’ Erica Bancroft, Elly Bacher, Gabrielle Owusu and Mira Barnum took second in the 400 relay in 52.68 and Corning was fourth in 54.59 followed by Notre Dame in 58.06.

Corning won the weight man’s relay for the girls in 1:01.11 with Elmira third in 1:05.23 followed by Edison (1:25.43).

In the 1600 relay Jones, Naudia Inness, Morgan and Doran won for Elmira in 4:20.24 with Horseheads fourth in 4:38.53 followed by Corning in 4:44.35.

Wise, Millie Kiersten, Doran and Addie Fenton won the 3200 relay for Elmira in 10:59.55 followed by Corning in 11:48.71. Edison was fourth in 13:43.31.

Selena Rollins of Elmira won the high jump at 4-feet, 10-inches followed by Corning’s Okoro (4-feet, 8-inches), Murray (4-feet, 4-inches), Anais Dailey of Elmira (4-feet, 4-inches) and Ahlea Redner of Edison and Clare McLaughlin tied for sixth at 4-feet, 2-inches followed by Paityn Walburn at 3-feet, 10-inches.

Reese Conway of Corning won the pole vault at 10-feet with Lauren Williams of Corning third at 8-feet. 

Serenity Rollins of Elmira was second in the long jump at 15-feet, 11-inches followed by Horseheads’ Elly Bachert (15-feet, 6-inches) and Maggie Tremaine (15-feet, 1-inch) and Morgan (14-feet, 11-inches. Madison Farrell of Corning was seventh at 14-feet, 5-inches with Elmira’s Caitlin Keenan 10th at 13-feet, 3-inches. 

Eleanor Green of Notre Dame was second in the triple jump at 33-feet, 5 1/2-inches followed by Bachert (32-feet, 4 1/2-inches). Alisyn Conway was fifth at 32-feet followed by Inness (33-feet, 11 1/2-inches). Nadia Zeba of Elmira was eighth at 30-feet, 1/2-inch and Murray was 10th at 29-feet, 11-inches).

Kailee Davis of Corning won the shot put at 31-feet, 4 3/4-inches followed by teammate Samantha Harvey (30-feet, 1 3/4-inches) and Elmira’s Verneece Sumner was third at 29-feet, 9 1/4-inches. Leilani Nick of Elmira was sixth at 27-feet, 9-inches) followed by Layla Byzitter of Corning at 27-feet, 5 1/2-inches. 

Harvey won the discus at 99-feet followed by teammates Grace Kio (95-feet, 3-inches) and Byzitter (86-feet, 6-inches). Nick was sixth at (81-feet, 1-inch) and Sumner was seventh at 79-feet, 5-inches). Horseheads’ Brianna Giblin was ninth at 70-feet, 1-inch followed by teammate Makennah Evans at 69-feet, 10-inches. 

Patrick Laney of Horseheads was second in the 100 in 10.98 with Jacob Deneka of Corning fourth at 11.64. Liam Morrisey of Horseheads was sixth in 11.82 followed by Edison’s Connor Lasko (11.95) and Horseheads’ Harrison Hirshman (12.32).

Ryan Calkins won the 200 in 22.96 followed by Horseheads’ Chase Luangsuwan (22.99). Horseheads’ Marco Cipolla was fifth in 23.53 followed by Corning’s Zac Radmitz (23.92) and Adrian Blouin (23.93). Christian Thomas of Horseheads was eighth at 24.16.

Radmitz was fourth in the 400 in 54.30 followed by teammate Dylan Currie (54.74), Horseheads’ Hunter Lewis (55.33) and Edison’s Zachary Sternfels (55.73). Grayson Timmons of Corning was 10th at 56.41. 

Nicholas Kowal of Horseheads was third in the 800 in 2:00.91 and Elmira’s James Lovell was eighth in 2:06.49 followed by Horseheads’ Jack Sydlansky (2:07.75).

Max Williams of Horseheads was third in the 1600 in 4:41.21 and Andrew Miller of Corning was seventh at 5:00.58 followed by Horseheads’ Dominick Marino (5:13.34) and Michael Gavin (5:15.94). 

Corning’s Graham Wightman won the 3200 in 9:56.59 and Gavin Hornsby of Horseheads was fourth n 10:21.67 followed by Notre Dame’s Gavin Meier (10:49.37) and Corning’s Andrew Wilkerson (10:50.74) and Britton Chapman (10:55.97). Kai Grow of Horseheads was 10th in 11:28.49.

Ethan Wentzel of Corning won the 110 hurdles in 15.27 with Dayne Bush of Elmira fourth at 18.06. 

Augustus Ector of Edison was second in the 400 hurdles in 1:02.58 followed by Corning’s Calkins (1:03.38) and Benjamin Marshall of Elmira (1:03.39). Nicholas Matteson of Corning was ninth in 1:10.61 followed by Gavin Crawford (1:11.73).

Corning’s Ashtyn Stark won the 3000 steeplechase in 10:13.36 followed by Lovell (10:43.53) and Jameson Duggan of Edison was third at 10:59.77. Corning’s Evan Soccio was fifth at 12:59.86 followed by Edison’s Daniel Stern (15:45.58).

Corning was second in the weightman’s relay in 53.37 followed by Elmira (1:00.65), Horseheads )1:05.40) and Edison (1:05.77).

Cipolla, Laney, Luangsuwan and Braka Schmidt of Horseheads won the 400 relay in 43.61 followed by Elmira (45.72). Corning was fourth at 46.03. 

Laney, Tyler Sherry, Carver Robbins and Schmidt won the 1600 relay in 3:32.25 and Corning was third at 3:36.18 with Elmira fifth at 3:43.15.

Allen Wetmore, Grow, Hornsby and Finn Van Buskirk won the 3200 relay for Horseheads in 9:07.69. Corning was third in 9:14.51. 

Elmira’s Drew Clearwater won the high jump at 5-feet, 8-inches followed by Notre Dame’s Antonio Campanella (5-feet, 8-inches) and Darien Coprew of Elmira (5-feet, 6-inches). Elmira’s Darien Harris was fifth at 5-feet, 4-inches tied with Achille Gallois of Corning. 

Wentzel was second in the pole vault at 12-feet with Connor Harrington of Corning sixth at 10-feet and Calkins was eighth at 9-feet and Michael Gavin of Horseheads took 10th at 8-feet.

John-Charles Warner of Elmira was third in the long jump at 20-feet, 6-inches followed by Deneka (19-feet, 5 3/4-inches). Schmidt was sixth at 19-feet, 2-inches and Gardiner was 10th at 18-feet, 1/2-inches.

Walton was second in the triple jump at 39-feet, 9-inches followed by Mark Cornacchio of Edison at 39-feet, 9-inches and Horseheads’ Jarryd Witzel (38-feet, 4 1/2-inches) and Gardiner at 38-feet. Elmira’s Bryson Williams was seventh at 36-feet, 11-inches followed by teammate Jaden Albarran (35-feet, 11 1/4-inches.

Freddie Collins of Corning was second in the shot put at 47-feet, 1 1/4-inches. Horseheads’ Brogan McLaughlin was sixth at 37-feet, 1-inch followed by Corning’s Jonah Goldwyn (35-feet, 6-inches) and Lorenzo Claudio of Elmira (35-feet, 3-inches). Deklan Goodwin of Elmira was 10th at 35-feet, 5-inches.

Collins won the discus at 133-feet, 1-inch. Claudio was fifth at 117-feet, 8-inches. Edison’s Landon Baumgardner was 10th at 96-feet, 8-inches.
