Southern Tier Sports ReportCORNING — The Horseheads baseball team swept three games against Corning this week, topping the Hawks 12-7 on Friday.
Horseheads scored four in the first and seven in the second in the win.
Hunter Matkosky was 3-for-5 with a double, four RBI and two runs scored and Cooper Ball was 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored.
Mason Markle was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and Ben Torgalski had a double and scored a run, while Lyncoln Bennett had a double and scored two runs.
AJ Sheehan had a hit and scored two runs and Beckett Doane had a hit, two RBI and a run scored.
Ryan Wygant had a hit and an RBI and Dmitri Charlanow had an RBI.
Chase Mashanic pitched five innings, striking out four and Sheehan struck out one in an inning, while Ball threw a perfect inning with two strikeouts.
Landen Speciale had three hits, with two RBI and a run scored for Corning and Andrew Welch had two hits, with a double, and an RBI.
Jay Richards had two hits, with an RBI and a run scored and Parker Tolbert had two hits and two RBI.
Nate Bretch and Joe Kiczenski each had hits, with Betch scoring two runs and Kiczenski scoring a run. Zach Miller scored a run.
Preston Miller worked one inning and Carter West pitched, before Richards went six innings, allowing six hits and one run, striking out four.
