Southern Tier Sports ReportITHACA — The Corning flag football team picked up a 12-0 victory over Ithaca on Friday night.
Helena Swandson had 115 yards and a rushing touchdown and Sydney Kiczenski threw her first varsity touchdown to Makenna Kempton.
“We are a really young team with only one senior and the girls are finally starting to buy into the system,” Corning coach Rich Capo said. “They had a great week of practice, which translated over to the game.
“They are finally realizing flag football doesn’t know how old you are, but it recognizes hard work and effort on the practice field. We have a lot of things to work on, but the girls deserve this win. I’m proud of them.”
