SECTION 4 TRACK AND FIELD: CORNING NOTCHES WINS OVER M-E AND U-E (20 PHOTOS) (2026-04-22)

CORNING — The Corning boys and girls track and field teams each picked up wins in a tri-meet on Wednesday night.

Corning’s girls won at 233, followed by Maine-Endwell at 114 and U-E at 23. Corning’s boys won at 218, followed by Maine-Endwell at 96 and U-E at 82. 

In the 3000 for the girls Olivia Martinec won in 11:19.66 with Abigail Wagner third in 11:36.18. 

Christopher Lawson won the 3200 in 10:25.18 followed by Bryce Hammond (10:36.06) and Nicholas Ferratella (10:38.03).

Corning won the girls’ 1600 relay in 4:56.08 and the boys won in 3:37.39. 

Maxwell Jennings won the pole vault for the boys at 13-feet, 6-inches followed by Ethan Wentzel (11-feet, 6-inches) and Connor Harrington (10-feet). 

Justin Curreri was third in the shot put at 39-feet, 3-inches and Samantha Harvey won the girls’ discus at 107-feet, followed by teammates Grace Kio (105-feet, 10-inches) and Kailee Davis (85-feet, 11-inches).

Jacob Deneka won the long jump at 20-feet, 2 1/2-inches and Joshua Fajardo was second at 18-feet, 2 3/4-inches.

Achille Gallois won the high jump at 5-feet, 6-inches with Keith Huff second at 5-feet.

Dwayne Gardiner was second in the triple jump at 36-feet, 8 3/4-inches.

Reese Conway won the girls’ pole vault at 10-feet, followed by Lauren Williams at 8-feet and Lauren Younkin at 5-feet. 

Kailee Davis won the shot put at 32-feet, 9 1/2-inches followed by Harvey (30-feet, 10 1/4-inches) and Layla Byzitter (28-feet, 8-inches).

Madison Farrell was third in the girls’ long jump at 14-feet, 10-inches and in the girls’ high jump Hadley Murray was second at 4-feet, 2-inches.

Aubrey Scott was third in the girls’ triple jump at 30-feet, 7 1/4-inches. 

Cella McLaughlin won the girls’ 100 hurdles in 14.03 followed by Clare McLaughlin at 17.32 and Chinonyerem Okoro at 18.32. 

In the girls’ 3200 relay Corning was second at 11:38.69. The boys won at 8:52.65.

Wentzel won the 110 hurdles in 15.53 followed by Fajardo at 17.41. 

Deneka was second in the 100 in 11.63 followed by Zac Radnitz at 11.75.

Claire Devlin won the girls’ 100 in 12.94 and Uma Parma Free Thutaran was second in the 1500 in 5:33.04. 

The Hawks were second in the girls’ 400 relay in 53.47 and second in the boys in 46.13. 

Sebastian Boutwell was second in the 1600 in 4:29.14 followed by Colten Ketchum in 4:56.35. 

Wagner won the 400 in 1:05.17 followed by Martinec in 1:06.24 and Gabriella Hurd in 1:06.27.

Adrian Blouin was second in the boys’ 400 in 52.77 followed by Charles Warner in 54.47.

Connor Calkins won the 400 hurdles in 1:03.38 followed by Nick Pattison in 1:09.02. Alisyn Conway won the girls’ 400 hurdles in 1:12.27 and Scott was second in 1:18.80.

Hurd won the girls’ 800 in 2:35.10 followed by Bella Martinec in 2:35.45 and Kateland Dininny in 2:39.79. 

Boutwell was second in the 800 in 1:59.97. Amanda McEwen was second in the 200 in 29.04 followed by Reese Conway in 29.24. 

Ryan Calkins was third in the boys’ 200 in 23.81.
