HORSEHEADS — The Horseheads baseball team rallied for a 5-3 victory over Corning on Wednesday night.
After Corning scored two runs in the top of the first, Horseheads tied things on a two-run home run by Cooper Ball in the bottom of the first.
The Hawks went up 3-2 in the second, but Horseheads scored two runs in the third and a run in the fourth on their way to the win.
Ball was 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, two RBI and two runs scored and Lyncoln Bennett had a triple, an RBI and a run scored.
Hunter Matkosky had a double and an RBI and Keagan Monahan had a hit and scored a run.
Beckett Doane and AJ Sheehan each had hits for Horseheads in the game and Ryan Ciccarelli scored a run for the Blue Raiders.
Mason Markle went the distance on the mound, striking out nine.
Johnny Graham was 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored for Corning and Landen Speciale, Nate Bretch, Noah Hunter and Zach Miller had hits in the game. Preston Miller and Hutter scored runs and Andrew Welch had an RBI.
Welch went the distance on the mound, striking out six.
