Southern Tier Sports ReportHORSEHEADS — The Horseheads boys’ lacrosse team scored seven goals in the third on their way to a 13-7 win over Binghamton on Tuesday night.
Horseheads led 4-3 at the half, before outscoring Binghamton 7-0 in the third. Binghamton outscored the Blue Raiders 4-2 in the fourth.
Seamus Lynch had five goals to lead Horseheads and Zack Bennett had three goals and an assist.
Brogan Sullivan and Liam Kelly each had a goal and two assists in the win.
Colin Phillips, Ethain Bailey and Boe Briggs all had goals for Horseheads and Keenan McCarthy finished with an assist.
Ben Potter had three saves and Graham Thompson finished with a save in the game.
Briggs was 15-for-20 on face-offs for Horseheads and Bailey was 2-for-2 on face-offs.
Binghamton got two goals each from Brayden Walker and Tristen Durham each had two goals and Hudson Benedict had a goal and an assist.
Ty Miller and Lyshawn Forbes each had goals and Kameron Ash and Angel Medina had assists.
“I thought both teams battled tonight,” Horseheads coach Jason Neubauer said. “I’m proud of the way we responded after halftime with seven goals in the third.”
Horseheads hosts Corning on Friday.
