Southern Tier Sports ReportVESTAL — The Horseheads softball team was edged by Vestal 4-2 on Tuesday afternoon.
Horseheads led 1-0 in the second inning, before Vestal scored two in the fourth, a run in the fifth and a run in the sixth. Horseheads got their second run in the sixth inning.
Aubrey Maticic and Grace Cronin each had two hits for Horseheads, with Maticic and Dylan Young scoring the Blue Raiders runs.
Caitlin Yearick had a double for Horseheads and Presley McInnis, Reagan Burge and Kolby Chaffee had hits. Chaffee had two RBI.
Burge struck out four and allowed four hits in the game.
