Southern Tier Sports ReportSOUTHPORT — The Notre Dame baseball team fell to Spencer Van-Etten/Candor 15-8 on Friday afternoon.
Both teams scored runs in the first and SVEC scored four in the second, while Notre Dame scored three.
SVEC went up 6-4 in the top of the third, but the Crusaders got three in the bottom half of the inning to take a 7-6 lead.
SVEC scored four in the fourth to pull away. They scored in every inning.
Colin Strong had a double, two RBI and two runs scored and Jhamez Boyd, Casey Kraeger, Brendan O’Brien, Colton Welch, James Lincoln and Johnny Piet all had hits in the game. Piet had an RBI and a run scored and Welch and Lincoln each scored runs.
Kraeger had two RBI and Boyd had an RBI, while Anthony Barkley scored two runs.
Kraeger struck out three in 1 2/3 innings and Strong struck out two in 3 1/3 innings. Boyd struck out three in two innings.
