IAC BASEBALL: EDISON NOTCHES ROAD WIN OVER NOTRE DAME (20 PHOTOS) (2026-04-15)

SOUTHPORT — The Edison baseball team got a dominant game from Paxton Hoover as they topped Notre Dame 15-5 on Wednesday.

Hover threw a complete game, striking ut eight and allowing four hits and two walks. He was 2-for-3 at the plate with a triple. 

Jace Schiller was 2-for-3 with a double and Camden Grover had two hits. 

Bently Stroman, Alijuwan Hall and Niko Cheplick all had hits on the day.

“Good, clean game,” Edison coach Chris Bennett said. “You never know what kind of game it’s going to be when we play Notre Dame. The athletes from both side look forward to this game every year. We took control out of the gate and never looked back.

“Really happy with my team’s performance tonight. I tip my hat to Cam Johnson for having his team ready to play and for how hard they played today.”

Anthony Barkley and Casey Kraeger each had two hits for Notre Dame. Kraeger had an RBI and scored a run and Barkley scored three runs.

Sam Klub had a hit and an RBI and Colton Welch had an RBI, while Malachi Cain scored a run. 

Colin Strong started for Notre Dame and Jhamez Boyd followed, with Brendan O’Brien finishing up on the mound.
