Southern Tier Sports ReportVESTAL — The Elmira softball team fell to Vestal on the road on Thursday, 11-2.
Vestal struck first with two in the second.
Elmira got a run back in the third, but Vestal went back up by two with a run in the fourth.
A run in the top of the fifth had Elmira within 3-2, but Vestal scored five in the bottom half of the inning and three in the sixth to seal the win.
Anna Osborne was 3-for-4 with an RBI and Annabelle Decker and Rylee Gonzalez each had two hits, with Gonzalez scoring a run.
Aleida Agosto and Hayden Pierce both finished with hits in the game. Cate Lambert scored a run for Elmira.
Madi Smith struck out four in four innings and Ava Cornacchio struck out two in two innings.
