Southern Tier Sports ReportMYRTLE BEACH — The Elmira Express fell behind early and weren’t able to recover against Boyd County in a 14-4 loss on Wednesday.
Boyd County scored three in the second, three in the third and five in the fourth.
Logan Palmer had two hits, with a home run, an RBI and a run scored for Elmira and Quinn Hanrahan and Ryan Mathews each had doubles in the game. Hanrahan had an RBI and Mathews scored a run.
Aeden Palmer had a hit for Elmira and Logan Demember scored two runs in the game.
Aeden Palmer struck out six in 3 2/3 innings. Carter Sherman pitched 1 1/3 innings in relief.
