SOUTHPORT — The Notre Dame softball team scored 10 runs in the third inning on their way to a 25-1 season-opening win over Trumansburg.
The Crusaders got seven in the first, two in the second, 10 in the third and sixth in the fourth to win in five innings.
Layla Sullivan struck out five and allowed no runs on two hits in three innings. Kayleigh Ayers struck out two in two innings of relief.
Lylie Colunio was 3-for-4 with four RBI and three runs scored and Sadie Potter was 3-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored.
Ayers had two hits, with a triple, four RBI and two runs scored and Sullivan had a triple and an RBI.
Giulianna White had an RBI and a run scored and Libby Meisner scored three runs and Liz Young, Kalysta DeMark and Danasia Thompkins each scored two runs in the game. Meisner, Young, Thompkins and DeMark all had RBI.
