Southern Tier Sports ReportCorning graduate Atalyia Rijo has five hits, with three doubles, over the past two games for Arkansas softball.
Rijo had three hits, with two doubles and three RBI against Central Arkansas. She had two hits, with a double in a win over No. 3 Florida.
Rijo has hits in five of the past six games. She had a hit earlier in the month against Central Arkansas and then had two hits against UConn and another hit the next day. She had doubles in each of the games against Central Arkansas.
The Corning grad has hits in six of the past eight games, with a home run against Alabama.
Rijo is hitting a career best .382 this year. She has a career-best .510 on-base percentage and a career-best 1.168 OPS on the year.
Rijo has nine doubles and four home runs this year. She has scored 23 runs and driven in 32.
The Corning graduate is third on the team in on-base percentage and she’s tied for second in doubles. Rijo is tied for third on the team in RBI.
Arkansas is 29-4 on the year, they are ranked ninth in the country.
