ELMIRA — The Corning Hawks tennis team opened the season with a 6-1 win over Elmira on Wednesday night.
In first singles Corning’s Derek Guo won 6-0, 6-2 over Otto Elmerson and at second singles Elmira’s Jan Kirchner won 3-6, 6-3, 10-3 over Tacky (Brian) Lee.
Kaeden Martinez of Corning won 6-1, 6-0 over Brady May at third singles and Paul Lee won 6-1, 6-1 over Brad Terwilliger at fourth singles.
In first doubles Jose Manuel Umancor and Ethan Smith won 6-2, 6-0 over Aiden Taylor and Ryan Lewis and at second doubles Gabriel Boutwell and Adam Scott won 6-0, b-1 over De’Sean Stroud and Aaron Shuster.
Aditya Aiyar and Alec Wyric of Corning won by forfeit at third doubles.
