Southern Tier Sports ReportVESTAL — The Elmira Express flag football team fell to Vestal 25-6 in their season opener on Friday night.
The scoring for the Express came on a 23-yard touchdown pass from Marley Devlin to freshman Emma Lambert.
Senior Mady Wasicki had two interceptions for Elmira in the game.
“Opening game jitters and our inexperience showed in the first half,” Elmira coach A’Don Allen said. “But, we tightened some things up and played much better in the seecond half and we can build on that. I’m proud of the effort and fight.”
