Southern Tier Sports ReportCorning graduate Ashlee Volpe has had a pair of four-point games over the past few weeks for the Syracuse women’s lacrosse team.
Against Loyola Maryland the Corning grad had four assists in a 15-7 win. In a 13-3 win over Virginia Tech the former Hawk had two goals and two assists.
Volpe has goals in five of the eight games this year and has points in six of the eight. Volpe has started all eight games for 5-3 Syracuse.
Syracuse has won five in a row after an 0-3 start against the No. 7, No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the country. During the five-game win streak the Orange have wins over No. 13 Loyola, Louisville, Cal, Virginia Tech and 9-6 against No. 4 Northwestern.
The Orange are ranked 14th in the country.
