STATEN ISLAND — The Corning boys’ 4x800 relay team earned a fourth-place state medal at the NYSPHSAA Track and Field Championships.
Bryce Hammond, Nicholas Ferratella, Sebastian Boutwell and Charles Warner were fourth in 7:57.84. The Hawks took sixth in the federation.
Corning’s Mattisen Johnston was 37th in the 55 meters in 7.56.
Horseheads’ Mackenzie Baker was 25th in the 1000 meters in 3:05.84. Corning’s Olivia Martinec was 24th in the 1500 in 4:53.22. Martinec was 19th in the 3000 in 10:09.39.
Reese Conway of Corning was tied for 17th in the pole vault at 10-feet. Amanda McEwen was 27th in the triple jump at 33-feet, 2 1/2-inches.
Samantha Harvey of Corning was 10th in the weight throw at 44-feet, 3-inches.
The Hawks took 18th in the 4x400 relay in 4:15.30.
Horseheads’ Patrick Laney was 33rd in the 55 meters in 6.76. Wyatt McDonald was 32nd in the 300 in 36.76.
Sebastian Boutwell of Corning was 14th in the 1000 in 2:33.11 and teammate Nicholas Ferratella was 23rd in 2:34.97.
Nicholas Kowal of Horseheads was 11th in the 3000 in 4:17.49.
Bryce Hammond of Corning was 12th in the 3200 in 9:17.49 and teammate Christopher Lawson was 23rd in 9:30.54. Hammond dropped over 15 seconds from his seed time.
Ethan Wentzel was 33rd in the 55 hurdles in 8.56.
Maxwell Jennings tied for 17th in the pole vault at 13-feet. The Hawks’ Freddie Collins was 24th in the weight throw at 53-feet, 10 1/2-inches.
Horseheads was 18th in the 4x200 relay in 1:32.19. Corning was 15th in the 4x400 relay in 3:27.53.
