Southern Tier Sports ReportWAVERLY — The Edison wrestling team had two champions and five sectional qualifiers at the Section IV, District 2 qualifier on Saturday.
Greg Golden won the title at 175 pounds. He had two technical fall wins, and then topped Caleb Kohlbach of Windsor 3-0 in the final.
Mason Vanderhoff won the title at 110 pounds. He won both his matches by fall, the semifinals in 24 seconds and the final in 1:22 over Owego’s Vitaly Sirotkin.
Jace Schiller was fourth at 165, getting a technical fall win on the day. The third-place match wasn’t wrestled with both advancing to sectionals.
Rocco Franchi was fifth at 132. The match wasn’t wrestled. Franchi had a major decision win on the day.
Aiden Quackenbush was fifth at 165. He had a pin on the day and the fifth-place match wasn’t wrestled.
Cameron Southard was 1-2 on the day, falling in the blood round. Daniel Cruz was 0-2 on the day.
