STAC GIRLS' BASKETBALL: ELMIRA NOTCHES VICTORY OVER ITHACA (2026-02-06)

ELMIRA — The Elmira girls’ basketball team picked up a 59-19 victory over Ithaca in a strong all-around effort on senior night.

“The energy from the girls was high from the opening tip, and they were determined to make sure the seniors were celebrated the right way,” Elmira coach A’Don Allen said. “It was a complete team win and a fitting way to honor four players hwo have meant a great deal to the program.

“A special shoutout to seniors Zhamir Harris, Zy Cade, Lizzie Hunter and Alana Heath. Each of them has given their all to this program over the course of their careers and has represented Elmira basketball with class, grace and hard work.”

Mariah Matias had 13 points for Elmira and Cade had nine points, on three threes.

Meya Smith had eight points and Abbi Valicenti and Ava Roberts each had six points, while Harris had five points.

Kayvonna King and Liliana Parker each had three points and Avery McCauley, Mykenzie Dickerson and Hunter all had two opints in the game.
