Southern Tier Sports ReportCORNING — The Corning Hawks won a battle of state-ranked teams to move to 14-0 on the season, topping Oneonta 83-68.
Corning is ranked 27th in Class AAA in the state and Oneonta (12-3) is ranked 20th in Class A.
Corning led 28-14 after the first quarter on their way to the win.
Nolyn Proudfoot led three Corning palyers with 20 or more points, finishing with 27, including five threes. He had six rebounds, six steals and two assists.
Kyler Stevenson had 22 points, six boards, three assists and two steals, and Carter Proudfoot had 20 points, with five threes, three rebounds and five steals.
Kohl Hogue flirted with a triple-double with 11 points, nine assists and seven rebounds.
Arda Derman had two points and Joe Fucito had a point. Teigen Gill had five assists, two rebounds and two steals.
Brady Carr led Oneonta with 18 points.
The Hawks play another state-ranked team Onday, when they host Canisteo-Greenwood at 7:15 p.m. C-S is ranked fourth in Class B.
