COLLEGE WRESTLING: HORSEHEADS GRAD LAVIGNE, OF ALFRED ST., WINS TITLE AT JAMESTOWN OPEN (2026-01-25)

JAMESTOWN — Horseheads graduate Hunter LaVigne of Alfred State won the 197-pound bracket at the Jamestown Open.

After a first-round bye, LaVigne had a pin in 1:35 over Bear Horgan of JCU. He followed with a 1:07 pin over Tufan Khalilov (PSCW) in the semifinals he notched his third first-round fall of the day in 1:11 over Juusu Young of JCU. 

LaVigne beat Gaetano Savelli of GU by technical fall 17-1 in the title match.
