HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS' WRESTLING: HORSEHEADS TAKES SIXTH AT JOURNEYMAN DUALS (2026-01-24)

SCHENECTADY — The Horseheads girls’ wrestling team took sixth at the Journeyman N.Y. State Girls’ Wrestling Duals.

Against No. 2 ranked in the state Shen they lost 48-15. They got a pin by Lily Veseck and forfeit wins by Lily Garrabrant and Elisa Bly. 

They beat Uniondale, the ninth ranked team in the state, 34-30. Sony Dordoni, Alexis Miles, Veseck, Aliyah Teets and Bly had pins, Lily Gullo had a technical fall and Lily Adams had a forfeit win.

The Blue Raiders fell to No. 14 Fulton 40-25. Dordoni, Veseck and Garrabrant had pins and Bly had a forfeit win.

Horseheads fell to Rocky Point, ranked seventh, 36-28. Dordoni had a decision, Gullo, Veseck and Aubrey Howe had pins and Adams and Bly had forfeit wins.

“Unranked and forfeiting three of the first four weights the Lady Raiders were able to leave it all on the at against several of the states best teams to claim sixth as a team,” Horseheads coach Don Bower said.
