Southern Tier Sports ReportCORNING — The Corning Hawks boys’ swimming and diving celebrated senior night with a 88-72 win over Johnson City on Thursday.
In the 200 medley relay Corning won in 1:43.86 and in the 200 free Kyle Williams won in 2:06.91 with Owen VanGorden third in 2:16.58.
Kaeden Martinez won the 200 IM in 2:23.05 followed by Derek Guo in 2:25.11.
JP Sierzant won the 50 free in 21.88, which is a state-cut time. Thomas Coeffic was second in 26.95.
Shawn De Pedro won the 100 fly in 58.14 followed by Nick Matteson in 1:04.71.
VanGorden won the 100 free in 59.57 followed by Lachlan Asiello in 59.86 and Owen Donlon in 1:01.95.
James Zhuang won the 500 free in 6:06.31 with Trace Ellison third in 6:42.86.
Corning won the 200 free relay with a state-cut time of 1:29.46.
John McKane had the top time in the 100 back, as an exhibition in 59.42 followed by teammates Williams (1:02.77) and Martinez (1:05.06).
Guo had the top time in the 100 breast stroke in 1:11.21 as an exhibition with Thomas VAnSlyke third in 1:19.86.
Corning had the top time in the 400 free relay as an exhibition in 3:19.
