STAC BOYS' BASKETBALL: CORNING MOVES TO 4-0 AS THEY ROLL PAST JC (2025-12-16)

CORNING — The Corning Hawks moved to 4-0 on the year with a 101-64 home victory over Johnson City on Tuesday night.

The Hawks are honorable meniton in the Class AAA state rankings and they next play at 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 8 at Elmira High School against Mansfield in the first round of the regional bracket in the Josh Palmer Fund Tournament.

Corning led just 20-16 after one quarter, but outscored Johnson City 64-26 over the next two quarters of the win.

Kyler Stevenson led Corning with 32 points, along with six boards, two steals and an assist and Nolyn Proudfoot gave the Hawks two players with 30 plus points in the game, notching a 30-point outing with five assists, five rebounds and four steals. 

Carter Proudfoot had 11 points and added five steals and three rebounds and Teigen Gill had nine points and three steals, with two rebounds and an assist.

Kohl Hogue had seven points and three rebounds, with two assists, while Dylan Brewster had five points and two rebounds.

Arda Derman had four points, four rebounds and four assists and Joe Fucito had three points and three rebounds.
