Southern Tier Sports ReportCORNING — The Corning girls’ basketball team was edged by Binghamton 30-29 on Friday night.
With a mechanical issue on the hoop at the field house, the game was played in the middle school gym.
Corning led 8-3 after one quarter and 13-7 at the half. Binghamton scored 15 third-quarter points and 23 in the second half to get the win.
Char Starns had 20 points for Corning, scoring at least four points ever quarter.
Evelyn Starns had four points, Deanna Shaddock had three points and Aubrey Rose finished with two points.
Binghamton got 11 points from Olympia Hopf and Remi Campbell finished with nine points in the game.
