HORSEHEADS — The Horseheads Blue Raiders opened up the season with the first ever Be a Stephens Tournament, finishing with two champions on the day.

With four starters out the Blue Raiders had 10 athletes in the field.

Sonya Dordoni (107) and Lily Gullo (126) won titles and Aliyah Tests was second. Lily Vesek (138) and Ellisa Bly (235) each finished third on the day. 

Aubrey Howe was fourth at 145, Lily Garabrant was fourth at 152, Brylee Friend was eighth at 132, Lily Adams was eighth at 236 and Alexis Miles was ninth at 120. 

Corning had a champion with Lauren Mahon (114) and a third-place finisher at 100 with Onalee Short and at 185 with Ava Northrup. Mahon was 5-0, Northrup was 4-1 and Short was 4-2.

Rhys’s Padgett was fifth at 145, going 3-2 and Coraline Vanskiver was also 3-2 at 235. 

Peyton Knapp was eighth at 138 going 2-3 and Emma Hadlock was eighth at 145, going 2-3, while Lillian Harndon was sixth at 165 going 2-3.

Evelyn VanCamp was 14th at 138, going 1-4, and Morgan Galinski was seventh at 114, going 1-6, while Sadie Kim went 0-4 at 126.
