Southern Tier Sports ReportELMIRA — The Edison girls’ basketball team edged Spencer Van-Etten at the Elmira College Tip-Off Showcase 42-39 to move to 2-0 on the season.
SVE led 16-12 at the half and 28-25 after three quarters, before Edison scored 16 in the fourth to get the win.
Mali Huffner had 12 points for the Spartans and Hailey Clark finished with eight points.
Camdyn Hoffman had seven points and Madelyn Morrison and Addison Vendzules finished with six points each, while Matteson Brush had three points.
