Southern Tier Sports ReportThe winter sports season gets started this week, as each of the winter sports kick off with the busiest days coming to end the week.
Overall there are 29 events this week, including 13 on Saturday.

MONDAY (4)
* Horseheads bowling hosts Vestal, Elmira hosts Binghamton, Maine-Endwell hosts Corning and Edison hosts Newark Valley.
TUESDAY (4)
* The Elmira bowling team is at Johnson City.
* The Corning swimming & diving team hosts Ithaca, Horseheads is at Watkins Glen and Elmira hosts Maine-Endwell.
WEDNESDAY (3)
* The Corning bowling team hosts Horseheads.
* Corning wrestling is at Bath and Edison hosts SVE.
THURSDAY (2)
* The Elmira boys’ basketball team is at Johnson City.
* The Edison girls’ basketball team hosts Newfield.
FRIDAY (3)
* The Horseheads wrestling team is home to kick off the year.
* The Notre Dame boys’ basketball team is at the Marathon Tip-Off Tourney and Edison is at the Lansing tip-off tourney.
SATURDAY (13)
* The Elmira girls’ wrestling team is at Groton and Horseheads hosts a tourney that includes Corning.
* The Horseheads wrestling team is home and Edison and Elmira are at Newark Valley.
* The Edison boys’ basketball team is at the Lansing tip-off tourney and Corning is at Wayland/Cohocton and Horseheads is at Seton Catholic.
* The Horseheads swimming and diving team is at the Hilton Invite.
* The Edison girls’ basketball team takes on SVE, ND takes on O-M, Corning faces Union-Springs, Horseheads takes off Nottingham and Elmira plays Johnson City in the Elmira College tip-off event.
