Southern Tier Sports ReportBUFFALO — Elmira’s Johnny Beecher made his debut with the Calgary Flames and he did it in his home state.
One day after the Flames claimed Beecher off the waivers that the Boston Bruins placed him on, the Elmira native was on the ice in Buffalo in a 6-2 Calgary win.
Beecher played 12 minutes and 47 seconds over 17 shifts. He had two shots, a blocked shot and a hit.
Beecher played 10 minutes and 11 seconds even strength and two minutes and 36 seconds on the penalty kill.
