Southern Tier Sports ReportSIDNEY — After a scoreless first half, one goal early in the second half proved to be the difference as Notre Dame fell to Groton 1-0 in the Section IV, Class C title game on Saturday.
The Crusaders were looking to defend their sectional title, but instead it was Groton winning sectionals for the first time in 38 years.
Jillian Zigenfus scored for Groton at 37:32 of the second half for the game’s only goal.
