STAC CROSS COUNTRY: CORNING HAS HUGE DAY AT STAC CHAMPIONSHIPS (24 PHOTOS) (2025-10-27)

ENDICOTT — The Corning boys dominated their way to a STAC Championship, while the Hawks had a runner-up finisher on the girls side at Union-Endicott High School.

The boys went 1-2-3 while winning the title at 26 points. Vestal was next at 55, followed by Ithaca (67), Horseheads (123) and Chenango valley (167).

Bryce Hammond won for Corning in 16:17.3 followed by Christopher Lawson (16:18.7) and Nicholas Ferratella (16:21.7). Sebastian Boutwell was sixth for the Hawks in 16:40.4. Horseheads’ Nicholas Kowal was 15th in 17:03.8 followed by Corning’s Ashtyn Stark (17:04.1).

Allen Wetmore of Horseheads was 24th in 17:18.5 followed by teammate Gavin Hornsby (17:19.4), Corning’s Graham Wightman (17:36.6) and Max Williams of Horseheads (17:38.3). Elmira’s James Lovell was 31st in 17:45.3 followed by Corning’s Andrew Miller (17:46.7) with Elijah Sonner of Corning 34th in 17:59.2. Dominick Marino of Horseheads was 39th in 18:28 and Connor Harrington of Corning was 45th in 18:31.8. Horseheads’ Luke Dordoni was 51st in 19:02.4 with teammate Joseph Juan 53rd in 19:04.8 followed by teammate Abdiel Basabakwinshi in 19:12.6. Joshua Knapp of Horseheads was 56th in 19:16.1 and Elmira’s Gianni Page was 60th in 19:23.8. Horseheads’ Finn Van Buskirk was 65th in 19:34.7 and Elmira’s Aaron Skinkle was 79th in 20:18.0 followed by teammate Wally Ferriter (20:19.7) and Benjamin Hinman of Elmira was 82nd in 20:27.6. Elmira’s Javare Allen was 94th in 21:25.1 followed by teammate Henry Mletzko in 21:30.3. 

On the girls’ side Corning’s Olivia Martinec was second in 19:01.20 and Tsadia Bercuvitz of Ithaca won at 17:18.70. Elmira’s Ella Devlin was fifth in 20:08.80. Corning’s Kateland Dininny was eighth in 20:18.10. Horseheads’ Suzanne Sydlansky was 13th in 21:22.30. Kaitlyn Lee of Corning was 20th in 21:54.40 and Elmira’s Madelyn Wise was 24th in 22:10.90. 

Corning’s Lillian Deuerlein was 27th in 22:17.50 and Hannah Sydlansky of Horseheads was 29th in 22:32.40. Elmira’s Molly Doran was 34th in 22:55.70 and Aubri Houck of Horseheads was 43rd in 24:05.40. Liesel Despain was 50th in 24:16.60 and Elmira’s Amber Mahmoud was 61st in 25:19.60 followed by Corning’s Emma Pfleegor (25:27) and Stella Harrison of Horseheads (25:31.60). Alisyn Conway of Corning was 65th in 26:23.80 followed by Elmira’s Aubrey Stewart (26:25.90) and teammate Mallory Duffy (26:52.00). Elmira’s Paityn Walburn was 74th in 27:51.70. 

For the JV boys Ryan Madden of Corning was second in 18:21.5. Horseheads’ Logan Hornsby was eighth in 18:46.9 followed by Corning’s Keith Huff (18:53.9). Corning’s Britton Chapman was 11th in 19:01 followed by Isaac Ballard (19:03). Horseheads’ Hunter Lewis was 14th in 19:086. Horseheads’ Tanner Knapp was 17th in 19:13.2 and Corning’s Colten Ketchum was 19th in 19:20.3. Corning’s Thomas Vanslyke was 26th in 19:48.6 with Horseheads’ Tanner Findley 29th in 20:14.1 and teammate RJ Bigelow 33rd in 20:77.6. Jax Adams of Corning was 38th in 20:35.3 and teammate Gavin Bierwiler was 41st in 20:44.5. Sylas Ruza of Corning was 45th in 20:59.4 and teammate Sebastian Salgado was 48th in 21:00.4. Horseheads’ Toby Tremba was 52nd in 21:11.6 followed by Corning’s John Shanchuck (21:12.2). Horseheads’ Dexter Bell was 56th in 21:20.5 and Corning’s Evan Soccio was 61st in 21:34.4. Horseheads’ Trent Woodard was 64th in 21:38.2 and teammate Pierce Terwilliger was 67th in 21:55.3 with teammate Daniel Mosher 69th in 22:05.8 followed by teammate Aaron Kaiser (22:06.5). 

Brock Allington of Corning was 73rd in 22:13.6 followed by Elmira’s Garrett Palmieri in 22:20.3. Brayden Slavin of Horseheads was 76th in 22:33.0 with Adam Loftus of Elmira 78th in 22:38.2 and Corning’s Tristan Pratt 80th in 22:52.2. Corning’s Wyatt Bloodsmith was 83rd in 23:10 and Michael Christmas was 89th in 23:20.5 and Alexander Howard was 96th in 23:51.2. Horseheads’ Noah Walton was 101st in 23:57.9 and Elmira’s Karson Combs was 107th in 24:48.5 and teammate Triton Conklin was 109th in 25:17.7. Horseheads’ Chase Barnstead was 125th in 29:13.1 and Kellen McDonnell of Horseheads was 131st in 33:34. 

Corning was second as a team in JV at 53 points, with Vestal winning at 26. Horseheads was fourth at 92 points. 

In the girls’ JV race Aubrey Miller of Corning was 12th in 26:32.40 followed by teammate Caroline Welch (27:02.30).

Corning’s modified girls and boys each won the titles. The girls had 16 points, compared to 62 for Ithaca.

Arabella Clarke of Corning won in 11:20.10 as the Hawks went 1-2-3-4. Kylan Wright was second in 11:23.30 followed by Finley Blood (11:25.3) and Vanessa Topielec (11:28.40). Eleanor Robsonwas sixth in 11:49.30 and Mia Owens was ninth in 12:16.20 with Kathryn Akerelrea 12th in 12:36.60. 

Ella Brimmer was 18th in 1:49.50 and Jaclyn Lee was 20th in 12:59.20. Sophia Bender was 22nd in 13:04.70 and Lillian Matusick was 27th in 13:19.60 while Ammarah Kinsey was 36th in 13:48.70. Eliana Swanson was 40th in 14:05.30 and Reagan Knapp was 50th in 14:30.50. Aryionna Bailor was 58th in 15:11. Kaitlyn Williams was 61st in 15:25.10 and Aleahya Haynes was 65th in 15:52.70. Horseheads’ Alexia Bednarski was 69th in 16:35.90. 

Elmira’s Addie Fenton was fifth in 11:28.70 as the Express took fourth as a team at 115. Annalyse Ferriter was 22nd in 13:36.90 with Olivia Palmer 25th in 14:10.00 and Olivia Ward 27th in 14:30.40. Stella Loftus was 36th in 16:31.10 and Aleah Mattei was 38th in 20:02.80.

The modified boys had 15 points with Ithaca at 59. Corning went one through five in the race. Oliver Cilip won at 10:04.70 followed by Cooper Adriance (10:08.40), Nathaniel Carlton (10:30.40), Everett Hunter (10:43.20) and Pascal Boutwell (10:43.20). Raphael Boutwell was 11th in 11:04.60 followed by Braedyn Copp in 11:13.50. 

Chase Reed of Corning was 20th in 11:23.20 and teammates Karl Dewald was 25th in 11:33.60 while Owen Lilly was 51st in 12:29.80. Reis Smith was 56th in 12:39.90 and Ben Vang was 71st in 13:02.50. 

Elmira was fourth at 138. Brayden Andrews was sixth in 10:48.70 with Noah Wilbur eighth in 10:52.50 and Emry Bahantka 27th in 11:52.50. Alexander Barletta was 47th in 13:02.40 and Landon Stein was 50th in 13:10.40. 

Horseheads took sixth at 157. Noah Cloke was 10th in 10:57.40 and Mason Dispenza was 29th in 11:57.10. Maxx Brown was 33rd in 12:21 and Andrew Snedecor was 36th in 12:26.20. Anthony Sullivan was 49th in 13:09.60 and Roswell Weaver was 66th in 15:58.20 with Carson Bullers 68th in 17:53.60.
