SECTION 4 FOOTBALL; CORNING SHUTS OUT BINGHAMTON AS SMITH RUNS FOR 242 YARDS AND FOUR SCORES (2025-10-10)

BINGHAMTON — The Corning defense pitched a shutout in a 36-0 win at Binghamton Friday night.

“It was a well-rounded effort with a shorthanded group in all three phases of the game,” Corning coach Mike Johnston Jr. said. “We had some kids step up tonight to give us a chance to be successful and Clayton Smith had a huge game for us.

“Cam Anderson and Grayson ReSue had another big night for us defensively.”

Smith scored four touchdowns in the Corning win.

Sith had a 77-yard touchdown run at 6:50 of the opening quarter and then a 58-yard score at 12:00 of the opening quarter.

Smith scored on a five-yard run at 7:27 of the second quarter and ReSue had a one-year run with 37 seconds left in the third. ReSue ran in the two-point try.

Smith had an 84-yard touchdown at 10:17 of the fourth quarter. Mike Luttonran in the two-point try.

Smith had 242 yards on just 10 carries with the four touchdowns for Corning.

ReSue ran for 72 yards on 12 carries and Lutton ran for 71 yards on 11 carries.

Cooper Bange completed one pass to Smith.

Jayden Chin ran for 36 yards on 17 carries for Binghamton. Jordan Prince was 8-for-14 passing for 113 yards for Binghamton.

Devonte Santiago had four grabs for 49 yards and T’Quei Williams had a 48-ayrd catch. Prince had a 12-yard catch and Isaiah Seepersaud had an eight-yard catch.

Anderson had seven tackles and 2 1/2 sacks and 2 1/2 tackles for a loss.

ReSue had five tackles and 1 1/2 tackles for a loss. Parker Jacobus had four tackles and 1 1/2 sacks with 1 1/2 tackles for a loss and Paul Santora had two tackles, a sack and a tackle for a loss.
