EIGHT-MAN FOOTBALL: EDISON STAYS UNBEATEN AS THEY ROLL PAST LANSING (2025-10-04)

LANSING — The Edison football team stayed unbeaten with a 56-7 win over Lansing on Saturday in eight-man football action.

Edison entered the week ranked fifth in the state in eight-man state rankings.

“We played a complete game,” Edison coach Kyle Erickson said. “We put everything together and dominated all three aspects of the game. I am very proud of our team with what we have accomplished so far. It’s exciting being 4-0, but it’s still just one week at a time. Our goal is to end each week 1-0. We will enjoy the win for the weekend then it’s on to Dryden. They are a very tough opponent.”

Edison jumped out to a 38-7 lead at the half on their way to the win.

Jace Schiller started the scoring with a 37-yard touchdown run at 6:17 and the two-point try failed.

Paxton Hoover hauled in a 20-yard touchdown pass from Schiller and the two-point try failed at 2:44 of the first quarter.

The defense then went to work as Ze’Quan Mosley intercepted a pass and ran it back 39 yards for a score. The two-point try failed at 1:35 of the opening quarter.

Marcquis Bradley Jr. caught a 17-yard touchdown from Schiller and the kick failed at 8:36 of the second quarter.

Greg Golden ran in from 26 yards out at 4:06 of the second quarter to make it 30-0.

Lansing got a 55-yard touchdown catch with 48 seconds left in the half to get on the board, but as the half end Schiller hit Golden on a five-yard pass and Golden had the two-point run.

In the third quarter Schiller ran in from 46 yards out and the kick failed 59 seconds into the third quarter and then Mosley ran in from seven yards out at 3:34 of the third quarter and the two-point try failed.

Mosley had a 51-yard touchdown run with 3:45 left in the game to cap the scoring. The two-point try failed.

Schiller was 7-for-14 passing for 97 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. Golden ran for 170 yards and a score on nine carries for Edison and Bradley Jr. had three catches for 44 yards and a score.

Edison ran for 450 yards in the game. Schiller ran for 155 yards on seven carries, with two scores and Mosley ran for 58 yards on two carries with two scores. Mark Cornacchio ran for 32 yards, Bradley Jr. ran for 25 and Niko Cheplick ran for 10 yards.

Hoover had two grabs for 38 yards and Golden had two catches for 15 yards.

Golden had 11 tackles, a tackle for a loss and a sack and Cheplick and Hoover each had four tackles, with Cheplick getting a tackle for a loss.

Mosley had the interception and Dylan Naylor had three tackles.
