SECTION 4 BOYS' GOLF: HORSEHEADS HAS TWO WITH ROUNDS IN 30S AS THEY TOP CORNING (2025-10-02)

CORNING — Two Horseheads golfers shot rounds in the 30s as the Horseheads golf team topped Corning 206-217 on Thursday at Corning Country Club.

Playing on the par-34 course Joe Cain shot a 37 for Horseheads and Seamus Lynch had a 38.

Boedi Knapp shot a 42 and Hunter Earl shot 44, while Jeff Cain had a 45 for the Blue Raiders.

Mo Cardinale had a 51 for Horseheads.

Hunter Akins led Corning with a 41 and Isaiah Kibler and Finn Barber each had a 43. Bryce Clark shot 44 and Ethan Ford had a 46. Carter Smithmen shot a 48.

“Tough battle,” Corning coach Chris Clark said. “Low man for Corning tonight was Hunter Akins. . . only a freshman. He’s had a great season and we’re looking forward to seeing what he does in the next three years.”
