Southern Tier Sports ReportELMIRA — Elmira moved to 4-0-1 on the year with their fourth shutout of the season, blanking Ithaca 2-0 on Thursday.
Sean Hanrahan had his fourth shutout in net for the Express.
“Defensively we have been outstanding all season,” Elmira coach Derek Hamilton said. “Chase Christian, Riley O’Herron, Brody Hamilton, Dom Romeo and goalkeeper Sean Hanrahan have given very few chances to opposing teams through the first five matches of the season.
“Collectively, we are functioning well as a team. The boys really enjoy being around each other.”
Kaelan Brenen-Buseck scored in the 41st minute and Dom Capilli scored on a penalty kick in the 71st minute.
Hayden Rolls had an assist in the game.
