WAVERLY — The Horseheads girls’ swimming and diving team won the title at the Wolverine Invitational on Saturday, while Corning finished fifth.
Horseheads had a score of 345, with a winner, three runner-up finishes and five bronze medals.
Corning finished second in the 200 medley relay in 1:57.74 followed by Horseheads in 2:00.56.
Horseheads’ Genevieve Carro finished sixth in the 200 free in 2:16.72 and teammate Lily Hall finished eighth in 2:18.16.
Horseheads went 1-2 in the 200 IM with Karina Lapierre winning in 2:21.51 followed by Mia Carro in 2:22.55. Maeve Manwaring of Horseheads was 10th in 2:41.75.
Corning’s Alexys Nale finished third in the 50 free in 26.01 with teammates Maria Kuksenkova fifth (27.00) and Alyssa Reimnsnyder sixth (27.46). Horseheads’ Becka Hutcheson was ninth in 28.34.
Horseheads’ Kenzie Blauvelt was third in the diving at 380.55.
Mia Carro was second in the 100 fly in 1:01.93 and Reimsnyder was fourth in 1:05.62. Reese Collier of Horseheads was eighth in 1:16.80.
In the 100 free Ali Mosher of Horseheads was third in 58.33 with Kuksenkova fifth in 59.54.
Ellie Ballard of Corning was second in the 500 free in 5:46.30 and Hall was eighth in 6:12.80.
Corning was second in the 200 free relay in 1:50.83 with Horseheads sixth in 1:54.46.
Lapierre was second in the 100 back in 1:01.65 followed by Mosher (1:02.80). Nicole Miller of Corning was sixth in 1:09.48 with Caroline Wilcox of Horseheads 10th in 1:13.57.
Nale won the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.84 and Genevieve Carro was sixth in 1:21.79 and Ava Klesh of Horseheads was eighth in 1:23.06.
Horseheads was third in the 400 free relay in 4:02.62 with Corning fifth in 4:13.68.
