COLLEGE TRACK AND FIELD: CORNING'S BUTLER CAPS SPECTACULAR CAREER WITH ANOTHER FIRST-TEAM ALL-AMERICAN FINISH (2025-06-16)

Corning graduate Lindsey Butler is a first-team All-American in the 1500 meters for the second straight year for the Virginia Tech Track and Field team, taking seventh in the event at nationals.

Butler finished seventh with a time of 4:10.32, just off her 4:10.16 she ran in the semifinals.

Butler transitioned to the 1500 meters the past couple of seasons after dominating in the 800 earlier in her career. The Corning graduate is a former national indoor champion in the 800 in 2022.

Butler took seventh a year ago as well in the 1500 in 4:09.85.

She was a seventh-place finisher indoor in 2024 in 2:02.39 in the 800 and in 2022 she won the national title in 2:01.37.

She was a sixth-place finisher outdoors in 2::02.83 in 2021 and fourth indoor that year in 2:02.15.

Overall she is one of the most decorated Virginia Tech athletes ever. She is a six-time first-team All-American for the Hokies.

This wraps up Butler’s spectacular career at Virginia Tech.
