COLLEGE MEN'S LACROSSE: CORNING'S MCNANEY, TILLMAN HEADED TO NATIONAL TITLE GAME (2025-05-24)

A pair of Corning natives are heading to the NCAA men’s lacrosse championship game after Maryland defeated Syracuse 14-8 in the NCAA semifinals on Saturday.

Corning’s Logan McNaney finished with 14 saves in goal. It was his 15th time this season making double-digit saves.

Maryland coach John Tillman is a Corning West graduate. Maryland is 76-42 all-time in the NCAA Tournament under Tillman.

Maryland will take on Cornell on Monday. It’s Maryland’s 18th championship appearance overall and they will seek their fifth title and third in the last eight tournaments played.

Maryland improved to 14-3 overall with 10 wins over ranked opponents. They will play No. 1 Cornell at 1 p.m. on Memorial Day on ESPN at Gillette Stadium. Maryland defeated Cornell 9-7 in the 2022 championship game to complete a perfect 18-0 season.
