HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: ND EDGED AT SAYRE (18 PHOTOS) (2025-05-13)

SAYRE — The Notre Dame softball team was edged by Sayre 9-8 in eight innings on Monday night.

Kayleigh Ayres had a hit and scored two runs for the Crusaders and Lylie Colunio had a hit and scored two runs. Emma Mallare, Sadie Potter, Bella Mashewske and Liz Young all had hits and Danasia Thompkins was 1-for-1 with three walks and had a two-run RBI double in the top of the seventh to tie the game.

The Crusaders got out of a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the seventh, but lost on a walk off single in the bottom of the eighth by winning pitcher Reagan Parrish for Sayre. Parrish struck out 11 for Sayre.

Notre Dame is 9-6 on the year.
