Southern Tier Sports Report
Corning native Logan McNaney was a second-round pick in the Premier Lacrosse League Draft on Tuesday, getting picked by the Denver Outlaws with the 11th overall pick.

McNaney is the goalie at Maryland, where he holds the career saves record with 743, breaking a 41-year-old record previously held by Kevin O’Leary. McNaney was the 2022 NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player and was a first-team all-Big Ten pick in 2025 and was a top 25 Tewaaraton Award Finalist.

There are eight teams in the league, and McNaney was the third pick of the second round.

McNaney was the first goalie selected in the draft. Three of his Maryland teammates were also drafted, and Maryland now has 76 professional outdoor lacrosse draftees and has had at least one top-12 pick in each of the past three drafts.

Maryland is 11-3 this year and has earned the second overall seed in the 2025 NCAA Tournament and will host the winner of the play-in game between Robert Morris and Air Force on Sunday, May 11 at 2:30 p.m. at SECU Stadium.

This is the fourth time in program history Maryland has earned the second seed.

Head coach John Tillman is a Corning West graduate and he has guided the Terps to 14 straight NCAA Tournaments, the longest streak in program history. Maryland has reached 10 NCAA semifinals in 12 full seasons including eight national title games and two national titles.

McNaney started all 14 games for Maryland this year, going 11-3 with 158 saves and a .583 save percentage. He had an 8.03 goals against average.
