
ELMIRA — The Elmira baseball team was edged by Ithaca 4-3 on Friday afternoon with five of the seven runs in the game coming in the final inning.
Ithaca led 1-0 after the second inning, but Elmira tied things in the sixth.
Ithaca scored three in the seventh to go up 4-1, and Elmira got two runs back in the seventh, but had runners stranded on the corners when the game ended.
Logan Palmer, Jack Cavalier, Quinn Hanrahan, Noah Cain and Aedan Palmer all had hits for Elmira in the game.
Logan Palmer had a double and an RBI and Aedan Palmer and Cain scored runs, while Hanrahan had two RBI.
Cavalier struck out nine in six innings of four-hit ball. Logan Palmer struck out two in one inning, allowing a hit and a run.
